Powell was an extremely explosive player for the Storm, and he proved to be very versatile, too. He could give Triston Smith a breather at running back. When Smith missed the game against Snohomish due to an injury, Powell ran for 165 yards on 27 carries. He lined up at wide receiver, and would occasionally take direct snaps in Squalicum’s version of the “Wildcat”. He also was one the team’s main kick returners. He was second on the team in receptions, and third in rushing. Only a sophomore, the future looks bright for Powell and the rest of the Storm.
